What is eAadhar: India’s Digital Identity Movement
With this age of digital, eAadhar is an integral component of India’s digital identification system. It is offered by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the electronic form of the physical Aadhaar card downloadable from the UIDAI website.
What is eAadhar?
eAadhar is digitally signed PDF of Aadhaar card and can be generated as valid ID document for all purposes. It contains same information of an Aadhaar card hard copy — name, address, gender, date of birth, and photo — and is encrypted in the interest of security and authenticity.
Download your eAadhar as follows:
- Visit the https://uidai.gov.in/“>official UIDAI portal.
- Tap on “Download Aadhaar.”
- Enter your Aadhaar number, Enrolment ID (EID), or Virtual ID (VID).
- Verify using OTP on registered mobile.
- Download PDF and use first four letters of your name and birth year as password to open the same.
