How to Vote in India step-by-step
Eligibility
You have reached the age of 18 years or more and are a citizen of India
Registration to Vote:
Go to the official website of the National Voter’s Service Portal at www.nvsp.in or the Election Commission of India website
Fill your online application by filling out Form 6 or take it in at your local Electoral Registration Office (ERO).
Carry appropriate identification, such as an Aadhar card, a passport, or any ID issued by the government.
Check if Your Name is there in the Electoral Roll: After the registration, check if your name is in the list of electors. It is also available to check from the NVSP website.
Know Your Constituency: You should also know which electoral constituency you are a part of, because that would tell you where to vote.
Get Your Voter ID: If you have registered through the online method, then you can easily download your Voter ID card directly from the NVSP website. If you registered through the offline method, then you will get it through the mail
Find the Polling Station: You can find your polling station according to the address you provide using the website of NVSP.

“On election day, go to your polling station.”
Take your Voter ID and other valid identification if required.
You will be given a ballot paper or an Electronic Voting Machine to cast your vote.
How to Vote:
If you are having the ballot paper, then you just need to put a clear choice on it and fold as instructed
If you are given the EVM, then you have to press the button beside the symbol of the candidate, whom you want to vote for. Confirm Your Ballot Counts: All instructions that have been provided in the polling station will be essential to confirm your ballot counts.
